The Organic Farmers Market founded by local farmers and the parent community at the Stellenbosch Waldorf School has for over ten years worked closely with both organic farmers and consumers to address the key problem of the farmers not having committed buyers and the consumers not having access to quality organic produce. The solution has arrived in the exciting and thought-provoking development of a new food supply chain called the Green Road governed by the Stellenbosch Waldorf School.  

The Green Road ensures a continued production of good quality natural and organic food by committed farmers who are joint owners of the supply chain on the one hand, and consumers who are committed to buying organic / biodynamic food and want to eat real food on the other.

We are asking the consumer to commit a percentage of their monthly food expenditure to the Green Road to ensure guaranteed production. In turn we are also asking the farmer to commit a percentage of their production to the Green Road to ensure supply. This results in an open and new partnership amongst our members on either side of the supply chain.
